A Little Light Map Reading
Movement is not the same as progress. Knowing where you want to be is a good start. This is a humorous sketch which could be used to break the tension in a church discussing where its future lies. It could be used in conjunction with “Moving With Intent”.

| Debbie | Are you sure we’ve taken the shortest route? |
| Jonathan | Yes, unless you’re capable of flight! |
| Debbie | Only asking! |
| Jonathan | Okay. (points at map again) We’re here, and that’s the peak we’re heading for. |
| Debbie | Peak? We’re not heading for a peak. |
| Jonathan | Course we are. |
| Debbie | We’re heading for the lake! |
| Jonathan | We agreed on the peak! The most spectacular views around, and a challenging walk. |
| Debbie | You might have agreed, I certainly didn’t. We talked about the lake. Everyone says It’s beautiful. |
| Jonathan | Exactly. Too many tourists. |
| Debbie | Well I’m not doing any more climbing! |
| (They glare at each other, then at the ground) | |
