The parable of the sower (Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23) is well known but in our urban world the idea of crops failing may have lost most of the impact that it once had. After all, to most of us, if a plant dies you just go and buy a new one (in a pot!) from the supermarket!

This script presents the parable from the plants’ point of view and so replaces the lost social impact with “human interest”. It is easy to stage and could be used in a school assembly as well as in a church setting.
