cast 1 (female),
runtime 7 minutes
This powerful and moving Easter monologue brings to life Mary Magdalene’s confusion as she gets ready to set off for the tomb on that first dark Sunday morning. We hear her turmoil of thoughts and feelings. Who was Jesus anyway? What was actually special about him (apart from the Miracles, the teaching, the wisdom…) and what did he think of her? What will she do next – what will any of them do next?
We know the whole story, but the first disciples were in the middle of a storm they hadn't yet begun to make sense of, and we're in the middle of it here.
You might want to use this in conjunction with Sunday 5am, about what the other disciples are doing that Sunday morning.
