A drama script by Rod Belt.

themes: Valentine’s Day, love, relationships, 1 Corinthians 13: 1-13.
cast: 3 (female teens).
runtime: 5 minutes.

What is love about?

In this entertaining drama script for St. Valentine’s Day Cara has decided to use business methods to find the perfect boyfriend – she sent cards to all the boys around and is now that she has received cards back she is giving them marks out of ten! Some didn’t respond so are obviously ruled out. Others sent cheap or soppy cards and so are treated with scorn. Her friend Izzy is not convinced and tries to tell her what love is really about.

Meanwhile Naomi is having the best day ever – she has received a card from someone special! One card, but to her that is all she needs.

For Christians, love is our thing - our specialist subject. Maybe we should embrace the opportunity to talk about true love on Valentine's Day.

An amusing fit

At first glance it didn't fit into the theme of the message.
Research enabled me to explain who 'Valentine' was and the script was well acted. At the end I realised that one of the lines was repeated in my notes and it nicely reinforced an important point.
Because we rarely have children in the congregation, we don't often 'do drama'.
This enlivened our worship and i'm looking forward to the Lent one which we are using soon.
